Best Route: Take CA-111 to CA-74 W (the Palms to Pines Highway), then CA-243 N into Idyllwild.

• The drive is scenic, winding, and climbs steadily—take your time and enjoy the view.

• Gas up in Palm Desert or Palm Springs before heading up.

From Ontario International Airport (ONT)

Best Route: Take I-10 E → CA-243 S (through Banning)
